Don't we know who we are?

Where does it all begin and where does it all end? Who are we?

"Don't we know who we are? We are the stars and the planets, the wind and the rain, the sands and the seas--we, the miracles of creation, are everything that has ever been. What's more, and what's more important, we are everything that ever shall be! We are atoms and empty space, molecules and living cells, a colony of sentient beings called together from the depths of time to re-experience the world! We are consciousness and understanding, awareness and appreciation, sensation and cognition. We are fragments upon which is written all the secrets of creation and existence--and in which is carried the seed of all that can ever be. Don't we know who we are?"

Andy Lakey's Angels

Tonight I was looking at my photos and saw ones I had taken of Andy Lakey, the angel artist, doing a painting in 1995-1996 in Sedona, AZ at the Angel Treasures store. I had been fascinated by his story of the angels and his art, prior to meeting him. Andy had nearly died from a drug overdose on New Year's Eve, 1986, collapsed in his shower, had a near death experience, with seven angels surrounding him, and he was "told" he would paint 2000 angels by the year 2000.  He had never painted before but soon his angel art became known internationally. His first angel is in the Vatican.  President Carter has # 3, and I have #1631 (and a later one of a small one).

So looking at the old photos led me to the Internet tonight and finding the sad news that he had passed away October 4, 2012, at the age of 52!  I was shocked! My sincere condolences to his wife, children, and all his family.

I very much had enjoyed my conversations with Andy on the two occasions I saw him in Sedona. I have his book, two of his angel paintings, and two of his energy sketches. I also had Andy do an energy sketch for my grandson, Daniel, who is now 21. I had also discussed with Andy my grief book manuscript, written following my husband’s death, which was awaiting publication at the time. (A Walk Through Grief: Crossing the Bridge Between Worlds.) He asked me to send it to him, which I did.

I do smile every time I see the photos of Andy painting a large energy canvas on the sidewalk in front of Angel Treasures in Sedona. When I had arrived at the store that day, he was painting and had his “angel space” taped off on the sidewalk. His back was to me while he was painting, and I unknowingly stepped into his “angel space,” and without turning around he said, “Someone just stepped into my energy.” I said, “Oh, I’m sorry.” He turned around and smiled at me. His next large painting was one he did for me. I donated that painting to Unity Church in Sedona when I moved from there ten years ago.

Andy was an incredibly talented artist who brought angel energy to many all around the world, and I’m sure continues to do so now from the other side. I’m glad I met him. I’m happy I have photographs of remembrance, and his beautiful art. He left us far too young, but he definitely left us with love.

"Coming Out for Christmas," Crystal Bowersox's new song!

I love this new song by Crystal Bowersox.  I had forgotten how great and unique a voice she has after liking her a lot on the season of American Idol.

Her song, co-written with Maia Sharp, has a great message.  This is what she had to say about the song:
“The holidays are here, and it pains me to think that anyone would be left alone or be forbidden to be with their family over something as silly as their sexual orientation. I hope it will serve as a holiday anthem for people who may finally have the courage to live their life as their true authentic self, proudly and unapologetically, and that their friends and family will love and accept them with loving open arms. May we all celebrate this holiday season together, celebrate equality, and give thanks for the true spirit of Christmas- with our one human family.”  From a post on SheWired.com

Some of the proceeds of the sale of the single will benefit The Trevor Project.  Crystal also tweeted last week that she was bi-sexual.

I bought the song via Amazon and I have played it numerous times.  I love it!   I hope you like it, also.   I'd love to see it top the charts for Crystal.
