Motherly Love Expressed

“The soul is not where it lives but where it loves.” ~Thomas Fuller (1608-1661)

One of the most powerful words in our language is the word LOVE.

Love comes wrapped in many packages of different sizes, shapes, forms, intensities, conditions, and degrees of commitment. There is love between parent and child, love between mates, love of family, love of friends, and love encompassing the whole of mankind. And of course, there is our love of animals, our pets, which can be a very strong love bond.

And there is also love that crosses all boundaries and finds its expression in the divine dance of life.

“Love, I say, is the energy of life.” ~Robert Browning (1812-1889)

I really like Fuller's Quote that you cited. It feels very true.

I remember reading that the eskimoes had many words to describe different variations of snow and percipitation. I always thought that we should have many differing words to describe love, since so many of us use the word to describe different states of being.

For instance, to fall in love is usually something different than totally surrender and acceptance to what is. Love seems to have many dimensions, or levels or degrees. Perhaps love is even perceived differently through different energy centers or chakras that we may spend a lot of time residing in.

But on another level....love will always be love no matter how the term is used.

I like Fuller's quote, too. Yes, love has many dimensions and levels. I didn't give the example of unconditional love which is the most divine, in my mind, at least. And that is a challenge to achieve, if we ever can reach it.
Love can be short term, long term, or forever.
Thanks for your comments, Bernie.

Great story!

Love is what we all are, it is the purest manifestation of energy.
