Intuitives—“a species unto themselves”

Photo Copyright 2010 by Ted Grussing

Psychiatrist and empath, Judith Orloff, M.D., states in this article at the Huffington Post:

"In my psychiatric practice in Los Angeles and in my workshops I've been struck by how many sensitive, empathic people who I call "emotional empaths" come to me, lonely, wanting a romantic partner, yet remaining single for years. Or else they're in relationships but feel constantly fatigued and overwhelmed. The reason isn't simply that 'there aren't enough emotionally available people 'out there,'' nor is their burnout 'neurotic.' Personally and professionally, I've discovered that something more is going on.

“In Emotional Freedom I describe emotional empaths as a species unto themselves. Whereas others may thrive on the togetherness of being a couple, for empaths like me, too much togetherness can be difficult, may cause us to bolt. Why? We tend to intuit and absorb our partner's energy, and become overloaded, anxious, or exhausted when we don't have time to decompress in our own space.”

Are you intuitive? Do you indentify with this in any way? ... feel different? Need your space, more than most people might?

Trusting Intuition

Medical doctor and intuitive, Dr. Judith Orloff and psychic intuitive Char Margolis discuss intuition with Dr. Oz.

Dr. Orloff is author of Second Sight and her latest book is Emotional Freedom. Char is an excellent psychic and her books are Questions from Earth, Answers From Heaven and Living in Spirit. She also has a long running primetime television show in The Netherlands. (I wish it was here in the USA, too).

We have to learn to trust our intuition. Char said to “OWN” your intuition and to do so with these 4 Cs:

Courage, Confidence, Commitment, to Conquer it—act upon it.

I would like to see more discussion of this by Char and Dr. Orloff.
