Limb Loss Awareness

Every day, 500 people loss a limb. On December 7, 2007, I was one of those people. Due to an infection in my foot and having peripheral artery disease, of which I was unaware, I had an amputation below my left knee after undergoing leg bypass surgery two weeks before in hopes of saving my leg. I knew going into the bypass surgery there was only a 20 percent chance of saving my leg, according to my wonderful surgeon. I spent 99 days in a skilled nursing hospital. Well worth it. (well worth it except for the food there) :-)

While I was there, I kidded with the therapists that I was going to write a murder mystery about who killed the chef. The bad guy had to be one of the patients, no doubt. :-)

Here is a photo of my leg. April is Limb Loss Awareness Month, and today, April 27, is Show Your Mettle Day. And the Boston Marathon Bombings have brought amputations suffered by 14 of the victims into the news. In my photo of my leg, my titanium post is covered by the sock but my “Mettle” is there as is the carbon foot.

Just this week, I received a new foot, an award-winning Echelon prosthetic foot with biomimetic design which simulates natural ankle motion. It gives hydraulic ankle control on ramps and stairs. It has an instant impact on postural symmetry, easing abnormal pressures at interface and other joints and promotes stability and confidence on rough and sloping surfaces and gives excellent energy response at all times. This is the first time I have had a movable ankle in any of my prosthetic legs.

I’ve had this foot since Wednesday of this week, and although it weighs a little more than my previous feet, I believe I’m really going to like it. Because I wear my prosthetic leg for 16 hours a day, my muscles and gait will need to adjust some, but already I have worked out twice without any discomfort, and I’m finding that it feels so much like a real ankle. One thing that many do not realize, that using a prosthetic for a below the knee amputation, takes a third more energy to walk. And of course full leg amputations use even more energy.

So for anyone having to go through an amputation, I suggest getting all the physical therapy you can, even way beyond what most insurance companies will cover. I had 14 months of physical therapy and gait training and it so happened my insurance covered it all. It is important to have a excellent relationship with your prosthetist and insist on a good fit! I’ve lost count of the test sockets and final sockets I’ve had over the past five years. But what I do know, bad fits can cause lots of problems, including skin problems.

Phantom pain at times can be difficult. I well remember the nights that the phantom pain would wake me from a sound sleep. Thankfully it never lasted more than 5 minutes or so. I still have it occasionally but not to any extreme. Cellular memory is fascinating--My foot and toes are still there. :-)

I see, in watching the Boston amputees, that they will get through this before long, and return to a normal life with little restriction. They have courage, and determination, and that is what it takes to heal. As Joseph Campbell wrote: “We must be willing to get rid of the life we planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

If anyone would like to help the Boston amputees you can donate individually via http://www.gofundme.com/BelieveinBoston/

Consciousness Beyond Life

Cardiologist Pim van Lommel, has studied near-death experiences (NDEs) for more than two decades in patients who survive cardiac arrest.  Curiosity about the reports of patients having NDEs while surviving cardiac arrest led Dr. van Lommel into his studies of  consciousness and NDEs.  In 2001, he and his fellow researchers published a study on Near Death Experiences in The Lancet, a medical journal.  In 2007, he wrote the Dutch bestseller Endless Consciousness which sold over 100.000 copies in the first year and has had 17 printings.

In 2010, he published Consciousness Beyond Life: The Science of the Near-Death Experience, available in hardcover, tradepaper, and Kindle.

Nine million Americans have experienced NDEs, and the findings of Dr. van Lommel’s studies correlate with those of Dr. Raymond Moody, a pioneer in Near Death Experiences with his 1975 book, Life After Life, and studies of others.   .

The hypothesis held by science has been that consciousness is a function of the brain but there is no proof of that

Dr. van Lommel’s studies have shown that those having near death experiences most often find the experience impressive, their view of life changes, they no longer fear death, and are left with an  enhanced spirituality, independent of prior religious beliefs.

His findings have also touched him and changed his world view. He believes consciousness is non-local and science has a problem with accepting that.  A new paradigm is needed and although millions experience NDEs, he believes it is considered a taboo subject by many.  He suggests people need to talk about their experience, share findings, and hope for a shift in the paradigm.  For consciousness beyond life to be accepted by science, Dr. van Lommel states that science has to change to accept the aspects of mankind and in doing so, has to include subjective criteria.  Subjective experiences cannot be proven, people tell about it, but science wants to prove it.   Until now, he says, science is—what  you can measure is real, what you cannot measure is not there.  We cannot measure consciousness, we cannot prove the content of consciousness.

Dr. van Lommel is devoting his time now to lecturing, speaking at universities, hospitals, medical schools, writing articles, appearing on TV and radio.  He says in Holland the paradigm is changing and he receives more invitations now to speak to scientific groups.

Not only do I personally believe in NDEs, and have written about them previously, I also believe that consciousness lives on after the shedding of the physical body.  The bond of love is part of consciousness, and it is there after death, as it is in life.

Additonal information can be found at the International Association of Near Death Studies (IANDS) website.

Ingo Swann, Pioneer of Remote Viewing, Dies.

Ingo Swann, pioneer of Remote Viewing, died February 1, 2013, at the age of  79. Largely known as the Father of Remote Viewing, Ingo Swann was also an artist and an author of several books and many articles on remote viewing, psychic abilities, and the paranormal.

The military remote viewers were trained under Ingo Swann, and a team of scientist, including Drs. Hal Puthoff, Russell Targ, Charles Tart, and others at Stanford Research Institute (SRI) in Menlo Park, CA., in conjunction with the CIA. Several had psychic ability before undergoing any training. A number of the retired military remote viewers have become consultants in parapsychology and still do remote viewing for agencies, corporations, individuals, and train others.

Read more about his life andwork here and read my previous blog entry, “Psychic Spies:  Remote Viewing,”  for a look at remote viewing and some of those who have worked with the military Stargate Program.

Moving Forward

“Dumping the Garbage”

More than one hundred twenty-five years ago, Dr. James Martin Peebles wrote:
“The oak remembers not each leaf it bore; and yet each leaf and bough and brawny limb help to make up the towering tree. Many of the acts and minor events of our lives have died out, or cease to echo in the memory chambers of our souls; still, their results live in our characters. Let then, be forgotten! It is not wise to brood over the broken rounds of the ladder our feet just pressed. The summit of the temple is to be reached. Direct the eye upward, and press forward towards the higher altitudes of heavenly truth and wisdom.”

From his home on the spirit side, Dr. Peebles now had this to say about his terrestrial statement:
“I still agree with all that I wrote as one has to let go of the backward-looking memories in order to continue on a smooth path toward enlightenment. There is no point in retracing or brooding over where one has walked. The movement is forward and upward. To stop on one broken round of the ladder and to not step beyond to the next, stifles.”

Sixth Sense...You Bet It’s Real.

Friday’s 20/20 Show on ABC was an excellent look at the after life and the paranormal.  The stories:  Mediums, namely the Long Island medium; Theresa Caputo; a look at premonitions; the near death experience of neurosurgeon, Dr. Eben Alexander, who has just published Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife, the story about his incredible experience while in a coma after contracting a very rare bacterial meningitis, and not expected to survive.  He spoke of butterflies and a beautiful young woman with blue eyes and filled with love, who guided him.  He drew a picture of her.  Later he was to discover a photograph of a biological sister he did not know, who had died as a young woman.  When he received her photograph from a biological family member, it was the woman who had been with him on the other side.  Seeing her photograph brought me tears.

Part of the show was devoted to the psychic ability of animals.  I’ve written about that and you can find my article at Self Healing Expressions.  I also wrote about one of the animals mentioned, Oscar the Cat.  You can find that article here

Butterflies....symbols of angels and spirit guides...Some time ago I wrote not only an ebook about that, A Loving Presence: Signs and Symbols from Your Angels and Spirit Guides, but also I have an article, and at my article others are posting their experiences with “visits” of deceased loved ones, who appear or send butterflies or birds.  You may enjoy reading the many experiences shared by others, and feel free to share your own experiences.

I’m pleased to see that ABC didn’t fill half the program with skeptics and debunkers, like what used to always seem to happen. If you missed the program, I believe you can find it on the ABC TV website.

Orbs, Energy, and Frequency

I had listened to a video by Dr. Miceal Ledwith on his study of Orbs.  I found his explanations interesting and, in fact, did answer some of the questions I've had regarding the authenticity of some photographs.  Yet, I have believed in the existence of such energy--and have seen some  myself.

I have always believed that our connection with the other side has had to do with frequency.  That belief was verified for me by my late husband, which I wrote about in my book, A Walk Through Grief: Crossing the Bridge Between Worlds.  I had said, while communicating with him from the other side, I felt unaware of time and a change of frequency.  This is part of what he told me:

"When we are communicating in this way it is as if a part of you is stretched and bilocated over here and I, too, am reaching out to your side and we meet somewhere in the middle beyond what we know as time and space.  Although you are still there in the physical and I am here in the non-physical, we merge our frequency and come together, minds touching, souls merging, and the communication takes place leaving behind time and space.  It is as if you have stepped across with one foot.  Think of it as an imaginary line and each of us cross over to stand side by side astraddle the line. That is where we merge our thoughts, feel the presence of the other.  I see you radiating energy, I feel your energy, your love and I hope that you feel all that from me as the merger takes place.  It is as if we are suspended beyond time and space, beyond the physical.  We come together in love and it radiates out into the universe and is felt by all.  You could say for me that it recharges my batteries, fills my heart with love and joy, and brings me peace.  I hope it does the same for you."

And yes, it does!

Mother Earth

Mother Earth

Look to the beauty of Mother Earth
and your soul will know God's love.
Walk the green forests, run your hands
through the rich earth.
She is yours to protect just as if
She were your child.
Do not abuse Her—give Her your love.
She is a gift to be treasured.
Keep Her skies blue and waters crystal;
Honor and respect Her children,
communicate with all life, in all forms,
for that is what God intended.

Embracing Spiritualism-Seers of the Ages, Dr. James Martin Peebles- Kindle Book

I believe Dr. James Martin Peebles smiled at me when I uploaded his classic book on Spiritualism and Seers of the Ages to Amazon Kindle this weekend.

Dr. Peebles wrote this book in 1869...nearly 150 years ago! I had the book for a number of years but had not actually read all of the book until I decided to edit it and write a new Introduction. I had often read portions of it, quoted from it, and had found it to be fascinating and very informative—historically, philosophically, religiously. As I have often done, in reading any of the books that James Martin Peebles wrote, I see such a connection with the spiritual psychology that he shares with us today—over these last 25 years through the mediumship of those who have worked closely with him: Thomas Jacobson, Athena Demetrios, Summer Bacon, and even myself.

The book is exclusive at Kindle. I always want to remind readers that there is a free Kindle App that can be download to your computer, phones, and other devices. A lot of people do not realize that.

“Spirits are but men and women divested of their mortal bodies. They have taken with them consciousness, memory, reason, sympathy, character. They walk by our side often, and yet unseen...There is but one world, and that one world embraces the yesterdays, the todays, and the innumerable tomorrows of eternity.” –Dr. James M. Peebles, 1910

Centuries Ago...Visions

I’ve been reading Seers of the Ages by Dr. James Martin Peebles, published in 1869. Dr. Peebles wrote of many people who he considered to be seers—mediums. Some of the predications I had read previously, but a couple of the long ago predictions I have not read before. For the most part, I do not like predictions of any kind, but these were not about gloom and doom, or apocalyptic in any way. I found this that he wrote about Roger Bacon, (and also Cicero) rather interesting. Bacon lived from 1214-1294, and was an English philosopher, teacher, a Franciscan Friar, and also a psychic medium.

Excerpt from Seers of the Ages:

Roger Bacon, of the 12th century, a Franciscan Friar, the accredited inventor of the telescope, and a profound scholar, who much disturbed the church by his seership and science, under the controlling intelligences of the spirit-world, penetrated into the mysteries of life, and, piercing the cloudy sunrises of intervening ages, seized upon the occult forces that bowed as servants to his beck and adapted them by inventing to practical uses. A profound study of magic with the natural sciences, made him liberal and progressive. The clergy prohibited his lectures, and confined the circulation of his writings to the walls of the convent. Finally a council of San Franciscans condemned his books and sent him to prison. He was specially gifted with the power to discern future events, being highly mediumistic. Some of his remarkable prophecies, uttered six hundred years ago, relating to modern inventions were strikingly practical, as the following testifies :

"Bridges, unsupported by arches, will be made to span the foaming current. Man shall descend to the bottom of the ocean, safely breathing, and treading with firm step on the golden sands, never brightened by the light of day. Call but the sacred powers of Sol and Luna into action, and behold a single steersman sitting at the helm, guiding the vessel which divides the waves with greater rapidity than if she had been propelled by a crew of marines toiling at the oars; and the loaded chariot no longer encumbered by the panting steeds, shall dart on its course with resistless force and rapidity. Let the simple elements do the labor; bind the eternal forces and yoke them to the same plow."

“The excellent writer, Prof. Brittan, says that these prophecies of Bacon embrace the Suspension Bridge, the Diving Bell, Steam Navigation, the Railroad, and the Steam Plow, in the same chain of events, all of which are among the accomplished realities of-day."

Dr. Peebles also wrote this about Roman Philosopher, and statesman, Cicero, who lived from 106 BC – 43 BC.
Cicero gave this remarkable prediction: "Across the ocean, and after many ages, an extensive and rich country will be discovered, and in it will arise a hero, who, by his counsel and arms, shall deliver his country from the slavery by which she was oppressed. This he shall do, under favorable auspices; and oh! how much more admirable will he be than our Brutus and Camillus!"

Centuries ago.....visions of things to come.

Change, Finding You...

“To resist change is to ignite pain and separation; to surrender and move with, and eventually to pilot change is to become the center of the universe rather than the periphery: the creator rather than the victim.” ~ Dr. Peebles, To Dance With Angels, Don and Linda Pendleton

Last night Dr. Joe Dispenza was a guest on Coast to Coast AM Radio Show and I found his concepts very interesting. I was reminded of Dr. Peebles and his spiritual psychology in regards to resisting change.

Consulting Spirit, A Doctor's Experience with Practical Mediumship

I love when science and spirituality marry. Last night I listened to a general practice physician from the U.K., Dr. Ian Rubenstein, as a guest on Coast to Coast AM Radio Show. As a primary care physician, he now integrates his mediumship into his medical practice. He has a new book, Consulting Spirit, A Doctor's Experience with Practical Mediumship. It is available in print and Kindle at Amazon.

What I noticed during the interview, was his healthy skepticism and his curiosity as he began to receive messages from the other side, and even see apparitions. Those experiences, and messages relayed to him through other mediums, began his journey of exploration of the paranormal.

From his website: “"Consulting Spirit" is the true story of a GP (primary care physician) who was drawn into the world of spirit mediumship and started receiving messages from his patients' deceased relatives.”

He apparently is able to use his mediumship for comfort and healing of patients. His book is for anyone interested in spirit communication, spirit guides, and spiritual enrichment, and I look forward to reading his book.

Dr. Evelyn Fuqua Interview on her New Book, Cosmic Relationships...

http://www.amazon.com/Cosmic-Relationships-Evelyn-Fuqua-Ph-D-ebook/dp/B0078UM96S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1458509979&sr=8-6&keywords=evelyn+fuqua

“Dr. Fuqua presents an insightful and compelling look at how past lives may influence our relationships, our spiritual growth, and the evolution of the soul. A fascinating read!” -Linda Pendleton, Author To Dance With Angels; Three Principles of Angelic Wisdom

“Dr. Fuqua is to be commended for her scientific tenacity as an ‘explorer’ as well as her spiritual veracity as an ‘explainer'. She demonstrates courage, curiosity, compassion and competence in her professional service and in her personal relationships." -Leo Sprinkle Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, University of Wyoming, Author of Soul Samples and numerous articles on ET research

I’m pleased to be doing this interview with my good friend, Dr. Evelyn Fuqua, Ph.D. Dr. Fuqua was a teacher and counselor in the public schools for thirty-three years and on the Board of Directors for the Association of Past Life Regression Therapy for six years. Dr. Fuqua, was in private practice in Rocklin, California, and is an international authority on Past Life Regression Therapy and Walk-In Phenomena. She has been a presenter at numerous professional conferences and a guest on many national radio Talk Shows, including the popular Coast to Coast AM Radio Show. She is the author of From Sirius to Earth: A Therapist Discovers a Soul Exchange,
She just released her second book, Cosmic Relationships: Exploring the Soul's Journey from Off-Earth, Earth Lives, and Reincarnation, a uniquely personal approach to understanding human relationships. Dr. Fuqua explores the past lives of herself and her four husbands. In this fascinating study, she seeks to give credence to her belief that there is no conflict between evolution and creationism.

I met Evelyn nine years ago while doing research on past lives via the Internet and discovering we lived in the same area at the time, we quickly became good friends.

Linda: Evelyn, I’m pleased to be doing this interview with you so my readers can learn about you, and your fascinating work. Tell us who or what has influenced your interest and studies in past lives and how your professional work led you into past life regression.?

Evelyn: Back in 1981 when I was receiving the training necessary to conduct hypnosis as a Marriage, Family Therapist, I had a client who was deeply depressed, even suicidal at times. There was nothing in this lifetime that seemed to explain her problems so I asked her if she was willing to try going back into a past life. Since she was desperate, she agreed. I had become interested in past lives when I became a Rosicrucian and met a group of Rosicrucian ladies who were firm believers in reincarnation. While I thought this was an interesting concept, I was still a skeptic when I regressed this particular client.

My client repeatedly went back into a lifetime in a small town in Kansas where she was killed in an automobile accident in the early 1950’s. Both she and her boyfriend were quite inebriated when the accident occurred. Her family was deeply religious and they were very disappointed in their “fallen” daughter. She apparently reincarnated rather quickly and came into this lifetime with a great deal of guilt. She was one of these very rare clients who remembered nothing of the hypnosis sessions even though there was much crying during the sessions. After dispelling these deep seated emotions, she was able to go back to her husband, had three children and was seemingly able to live a normal life.

It was this session, plus meeting many professional people who did past life therapy, that finally convinced me that past lives are valid and a very effective form of therapy.

Linda: Before we go on to tell us more about your new book, please tell us a little about your first book, and what led you to write it?

Evelyn: Rose/Athor came to me as a client in 1988 with the goal of helping her overcome her environmental illness (aka chemical sensitivity) through the use of hypnosis. She had seen my ad and photograph in a metaphysical magazine and was convinced that I was THE THERAPIST she needed to see. I had never dealt with such a case before but she had a fascinating background and I finally agreed to see her for no fee as a research case. This led to almost three years of therapy in which through bits and pieces we were able to finally make sense out of her saga of being an aspect of one of the Beings of Light on the Council of Twelve on the etheric plane of the star system Sirius. Athor is listed as a co-author since she wrote her autobiography as part of the story.

This was such a fascinating story that I felt as if I was being guided by the Council of Sirius to write this book in order to give professional validity to Walk-Ins, Soul Exchanges, etc.

Linda: What book or books have influenced your life?

Evelyn: There is a River, about the life of Edgar Cayce; Autobiography of a Yogi, about the life of Yogananda; all of the books from Religious Research in Florida; and numerous books published by the Rosicrucian Press. Actually I have a huge metaphysical library and have read a great deal that has contributed toward my present belief system as reflected in
Cosmic Relationships.
Linda: I’m always amazed how There is a River by Thomas Sugrue has influenced so many of us. I have never been regressed, but years ago I had thought about it after taking a six-week class at Astara with
Dr. Hazel M. Denning (a friend of yours) I guess life got in the way, and I never scheduled it. At the time, she was teaching parapsychology classes at the University of California-Riverside. Then later, Dr. Brian Weiss came long with his books, which I recommend to anyone just getting into these studies. But Evelyn, I admire you, Hazel, Dr. Weiss, and many other professionals who come forward with such credible, inspirational, spiritual information to share. Did you have to overcome any obstacles in moving into the paranormal arena as a professional?

Evelyn: It took a great deal of nerve to go from traditional therapy to past life regression therapy, and finally to working with extraterrestrials. The people who were/are traditional therapists are usually afraid to do anything that is questioned by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (professional governing board in California). I fortunately had retired from many years in the public schools as a teacher, then a counselor; therefore, I was not totally dependent on an income from my private practice. Indeed I received several letters from the Board of Behavioral Sciences cautioning me about the work I was doing. I responded each time apparently with enough legitimate information that I would not hear from them again, until perhaps a year or so later. I finally became disgusted with their harassment and continued to practice as a hypnotherapist after dropping my MFT license. I’m an Aquarian and knew that they were just way behind the times in their limited thinking!

Linda: Does past life regression often, more than not, lead to healing of trauma or conflict a person has in current life?

Evelyn: Not always, but quite often. The main benefit actually was to deepen one’s spiritual life since this is a very spiritual process.

Linda: As I always ask writers that I interview---What is your favorite quote?

Evelyn: I have finally gotten around to reading Conversations with God by Neal Donald Walsch. Although I do not think he is talking to “God”, I agree with many of the concepts, and in fact might have used the following in Cosmic Relationships had I read it earlier:

“Your mind is right now filled with old thoughts. Not only old thoughts, but mostly someone else’s old thoughts. It’s important now, it’s time now, to change your mind about some things. This is what evolution is all about.”

Indeed if you can open your mind to some of the concepts in Cosmic Relationships, you will have taken a giant leap forward in your own evolution!

Linda: What other words would you like to leave us with, Evelyn? Thoughts to ponder? Thoughts on our future?

Evelyn: I am looking forward to 2012. Many of us seem to feel a new energy on the planet. There will no doubt be more chaos, but I have very hopeful that we are turning increasingly “toward the Light”.

Linda: Cosmic Relationships is now in print and will be available at Amazon Kindle soon. I wish you the best with the book, Evelyn. I’m sure others will find your book as fascinating as I have.

Evelyn: I ask for the assistance of your readers. This is from Athor, December 2010:

“We are at a time of great changes on Planet Earth. We need to ASK for assistance from the Beings of Light (This includes highly advanced ET’s – on Councils, etc., plus Ascended Masters such as Mother Mary, Hilarian, Jesus, Sananda, Buddha, etc. and Angels). They will not interfere unless asked to help, just as you should ask for help from your guides and guardian angel. Please use the following visualization with a partner or group.

“Visualize a ring of fire or white Light with rainbow colors swirling around us (or a group). Place the Planet Earth in the center of the circle. We ask for all the beings of Light who wish to assist in bringing peace, harmony, good will, unity and balance to this planet to do so. We invoke the highest levels of light to protect Earth and all of its inhabitants."

As Athor states, if people all over the world did this on a daily basis, it would make a huge difference on Planet Earth. We can’t solve all these Earthly problems alone. We NEED the assistance of the more evolved beings.

I thank my dear friend, Linda, for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.

Linda: Thank you, Evelyn.

Spiritual Growth

If we have come into this life to experience certain lessons and to grow from these, are some of these lessons predestined, chosen by ourselves at a soul-level, to be experienced? Are these lessons part of our soul-growth? We can think of ourselves as a rose bud, which first begins as a small green nub and then begins to form the petals of a rose within. As the petals take shape and form, they evolve and grow, soon bursting open and revealing themselves to the world. And as the rose continues to grow, absorbing the rays of sunlight and soaking up nourishment which filters up from the roots of the rose plant, it continues its evolution, expanding, filling out, and maturing. It then becomes a beautiful, flourishing and thriving rose.

To Dance With Angels by Don and Linda Pendleton, Kindle, Print, Audiobook

"This great book [To Dance With Angels] correlates with all that I have learned in my own longtime studies of life and death. It should be read by all who wonder about the magic
of life. It is powerful, it is beautiful, and it rings with truth. I loved it!"
—Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, M.D., Famed Thanatologist and Author of On Death and Dying

To Dance With Angels

Surely each of us, at least once, has looked up from some private task and seen, for an instant, a flesh and blood apparition of a departed loved one or felt some subtle kind of communication which comes from the other side.

The pages of To Dance With Angels hold a key to the meaning of life on planet Earth and all that lies beyond, revealed to the authors, Don and Linda Pendleton, in a clear and simple language by one who has experienced it all.

James Martin Peebles, the "grand spirit," was born in 1822 in Vermont and died in 1922, days short of his one hundredth birthday. Clergyman, physician, author and world traveler, Dr. Peebles was highly active on Earth, and from the other side has remained keenly interested in human destiny, regarding communication with Earth as "my greatest recreation, greatest pleasure, and most extraordinary growth." Shortly following his death, his communication with Earth was established and through various mediums throughout the world, continues to this day.

To Dance With Angels is structured around a series of in-depth interviews with Dr. Peebles through the mediumship of Thomas Jacobson and is a definitive study of man's spiritual nature and a refreshing, inspirational, and enlightening look at life and death.

Dr. Peebles shares his wisdom, angelic wit, and humor on subjects such as birth and death, past lives, guardian angels, love and relationships, and the lessons we have chosen here on Earth. His spiritual psychology is "down-to earth" and easily incorporated into our every day lives. It is a book for anyone looking for spiritual understanding and confirmation that life does not end at death of the physical body.

What began for Don and Linda as a casual curiosity about mediumship developed into this fascinating study of Jacobson and his phenomenal connection with Dr. Peebles. "We soon had to accept the inescapable conclusion," Don stated, "that Dr. Peebles was no mere dissociated personality but was, in fact, a spirit communicating with us through Thomas. It became a book that had to be written. We could not keep this information to ourselves. It had to be shared."

To Dance With Angels, has enjoyed four English language editions. It was published in Japan in 1999 and in Russia in 2004.

In 2011, after 20 years, Linda has published an ebook edition.

In 2002, Linda published the follow-up book, Three Principles of Angelic Wisdom. The new book delves further into the spiritual psychology of Dr. Peebles along with biographical information on James Martin Peebles' terrestrial life.

"To Dance With Angels is not merely a very, very good book but a great one. And I do not use the word ‘great' loosely. A book that, ideally, everybody should read."
—Richard S. Prather, Author of the Shell Scott Mystery Series

"...powerful and deeply moving experience, potentially life-changing
[and] of universal importance. The book is sublime."
—Whitley Strieber, Author of Communion and Transformation

"The world through the wise eyes of Dr. Peebles.
An unusual book filled with sound advice—
no matter what your beliefs about spiritualism."
—Dr. Frank Vandiver, President Emeritus, Texas A&M University, Historian, Author

"Extremely readable and full of brilliant insights...undoubtedly genuine...this book is an important addition to the literature of spirit communication."
—Colin Wilson, Author, Authority on the Paranormal

"From my personal experience with Thomas Jacobson and Dr. Peebles, I regard
both as wise and loving friends of the highest integrity. I am delighted that the
world may now share in their love and wisdom through this wonderful book."
—Joyce De Witt, Actress, star of television's Three's Company

Joseph Campbell on Reincarnation

Joseph Campbell, was the world’s foremost authority on mythology, a preeminent scholar, writer, and teacher, and his works had a lasting and profound effect on millions. Many of us came to know Joseph Campbell when the PBS television series of six interviews of him by Bill Moyers aired.

For those not familiar with Joseph Campbell’s mythological writings or teachings may be familiar with this well known quote of his, one of my favorites:

“Follow your bliss!”

In The Power of Myth book, with transcripts of the interviews, in the chapter, The Journey Inward, Bill Moyers asks, “And what does the idea of reincarnation suggest?”

Joseph Campbell replies, “It suggests that you are more than you think you are. There are dimensions of your being and a potential for realization and consciousness that are not included in your concept of yourself. Your life is much deeper and broader than you conceive it to be here. What you are living is but a fractional inkling of what is really within you, what gives you life, breadth, and depth. But you can live in terms of that depth. And when you experience it, you suddenly see that all the religions are talking of that.”

He had so much to say that it is difficult to share only a small portion of his words. This is also another of my favorite quotes of his, and it has been valuable in my life several times: “We must be willing to get rid of the life we planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

Campbell began his teaching career at Sara Lawrence College in 1934 and taught there for nearly forty years. He died in 1987, at the age of eighty-three. Two of his classics are The Hero With a Thousand Faces and The Masks of the Gods.

The Bridge Across

Margaret, an elderly woman who has since passed on, was an extended family member. Her entire family had always been very active within the Catholic Church – one sister was a nun, a brother engaged in missionary work and she herself was a very devout Catholic. She related an experience involving her mother on her deathbed. After sitting beside her mother for hours, praying and reciting the rosary, Margaret had moved to sit at the foot of the bed and shortly thereafter, her mother died. At that moment, she experienced a strong aroma of roses in the room and she was startled to discover, along with the rosary clasped in her hand, were her mother's wedding rings. She never understood how those rings got into her hand but she accepted it as a Divine experience.

I’m not sure I can explain how the wedding rings ended in Margaret's hand with the rosary, except by Divine intervention. The fragrant aroma such as that of roses, or other strong, familiar scents is a common experience which many have. Often the loved one’s favorite perfume, after-shave, or flowers may fill the room.

Angel Meditation

Angel Meditation: Meet Your Angel or Spirit Guide Today

By Linda Pendleton

Begin this angel meditation with an open heart to receive the messages of love awaiting your recognition and acceptance. Ask God/Spirit/the Divine... to surround you in white Light and for messages of love and purity - for the highest good and growth. With pen and paper in hand, close your eyes for a moment and imagine you are sitting on a bench under a shade tree in a beautiful garden, filled with colorful, fragrant flowers, lush deep green grass, and singing birds. As you open your eyes, imagine that a beautiful angel, male or female, walks toward you and joins you on the bench. Say hello, and ask, "Do you have a message for me?" Listen for an answer, any answer, and write it down, without judgment, without filtering what you hear, or what you might have previously imagined an angel would say. Close your eyes, and softly thank the angel. Then open your eyes and read what you have written. Does it have meaning for you? If so, then write out what you believe the meaning and/or purpose to be in your journal. You might want to try this once or so a day, to see what messages filter through your mind and onto the paper. Keep your daily writings and read them over again in a day or two, and see if any new perspective or understanding occurs to you.

Life is Growth ...

Life is growth, from our first helpless cry at birth to our last breath. Life is also a personal journey and we make our choices along the way, and observe our outer world in the way we choose.

Medium John Edward

Today Anderson Cooper had a special show with best-selling author and medium John Edward. It was the best I have seen of a TV program with John sharing his gift. (other than his own TV shows). It was so nice to see mediumship presented by one of the best, on a network show without the need to bring in the debunkers as part of the show. The energy there with Anderson, his mother Gloria Vanderbilt, John, and the audience was relaxed, humorous, and emotional.

Anderson’s new daily talk show “Anderson” is very good.

From the show today:
