This is the interior of an old barn that was once a
one room schoolhouse in Gilbert, Iowa.
The school had originally been on my great-grandparents farm land in Gilbert, Iowa. My grandfather, Arthur, and his older brother,
Roy, attended school there in about 1894-1899.
The schoolhouse was moved across the highway at some point in those early
years and became a barn when school was moved into town. The photos were taken for me in recent years by
a couple who lived nearby in Gilbert and offered to send me photos. As you see, orbs fill the photo. Could it be that my ancestors are visiting
the one room schoolhouse?--And maybe they purposely (personally) made their
presence visible for me?
